Some valuable tips while building a garden shed

If you are having a clutter hinder up your garden or garage then its time for you to build an outdoor shed storage. It will be separate outbuilding storage for lawn mowers, lumber, bicycles, tools, ladder or all the stuff which you need. These are the stuff that is mostly piling up outside otherwise cram into the garage.

The simplest way to build a garden shed is to buy a set of building plans in the case when you are going to do it yourself. You can also have it from internet with complete construction instructions including scaled drawings. They have also provided with the list of materials along with quantity of lumber and hardware needed.

You need to keep this in your mind that most of the towns want a building permit so you need to apply for the building permit before you starting the construction. You can make a call to your building department for more information. After that you can follow the tips which will be guiding you through each construction process.

The first thing you need to do is to select the right site for the garden shed which is easily accessible. It has to be relatively level and dry. Low-lying areas are not suitable for shed because it collects the water easily. It might make the area around the shed soggy and damped. Excess of the moisture can cause rot wood, rusting of hinges, paint blister and it also provide favorable conditions for the growth of mold and mildew.

It's always good to consult a building inspector, it can be an invaluable resource when it comes to building your garden shed. Firstly an inspector will review your building plan then visit your site of the shed as well.

He or she will also answer your queries about the plan and will propose some possible suggestions as well in order to save your time and money. You can also have some suggestions on materials an building technique.

For longer lasting foundation we will need to use a key solid proper material. If you are building  small sheds in Perth,
then its better to have on-grade foundation by solid concrete blocks or you can also use pressure treated wood timbers as well. Assure that you are using solid blocks for the shed foundation. Hollow core wall blocks are very dangerous, they will eventually crack or crumble under the weight of the shed.

Many people use untreated lumber for the floor, it may cost you less but it is going to rot really fast. Use plywood for the flooring , its edges will be locked together and it is more weather resistant as well.
Use your window wisely, there will be no electricity in the shed . So make sure that window brighten up the interior by catching most of the sunlight.

For small shed its fine to have a single pair of swing doors. But if the shed is bigger than approximately 10*12 feet, then your install two pairs of doors.
